How to identify the Pigeon

Plump gray birds with iridescent neck feathers and two dark wing bars, though color varies. They gather in flocks on ledges and rooflines.

Behavior & biology

Highly adapted to buildings, they roost and nest on ledges, under signage, and on HVAC equipment, returning to the same sites and habituating to passive scares.

Why Pigeons are a problem

Their acidic droppings corrode buildings and equipment, foul walkways, spread disease, and clog drains and gutters with nesting debris.

Signs of an infestation

Flocks roosting on ledges and signs, heavy droppings below roost sites, nests in signage and equipment, and cooing overhead.
