Kimberly Camera is the Founder and Field Operator of Coastal K9 Pest Solutions (CK9PS), a certified detection and pest management company based in Aiken, South Carolina. With more than 35 years of combined experience in canine detection, wildlife management, and integrated pest control, Kim brings a depth of field knowledge to this industry that can’t be manufactured in a classroom.

Kim’s career in working dogs began long before pest control. As a certified FEMA Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) canine handler, she deployed across the country with live-find and cadaver recovery dogs, training rigorously as part of one of only 26 nationally recognized FEMA canine teams. That foundation — built on precision, accountability, and performance under real-world pressure — informs every program she develops and every team she trains today.

When Kim transitioned into pest management, she built something purpose-driven from the ground up. CK9PS operates across five service divisions: certified K9 detection for bed bugs, rodents, and wildlife; Canada goose harassment and management; rodent abatement; bird exclusion; and integrated pest management. The company’s philosophy is direct: Detection Before Treatment. Every Time. K9 detection is the intelligence that drives every program — identifying exactly where pest pressure exists so that rodenticide and pesticide application is focused, targeted, and justified by data. That precision is what separates a sound IPM program from a reactive one.

Kim holds certifications through NESDCA, CPDA, WDDO, and ICRWDA, is a Licensed Pest Control Technician, and brings 28 or more years of hands-on K9 detection experience to her work. She is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and podcasts on building sustainable K9 detection programs and the role certified canine teams play in driving focused, targeted rodenticide and pesticide application within a sound IPM framework. She has presented at Purdue University, the VPC Conference, and internationally, and serves as a Global Advisor for PestInsight and a facilitator for the PPHEMAP apprenticeship program. She is an active member of Women in Pest Control, a 2026 recipient of the Women in Pest Control Heart of the Industry Award, and a 2026 recipient of the NPMA Women in Pest Management Impact Award.

Kim’s background also spans raptor research, bird banding with the Cape May Bird Observatory, snake relocation, and micro ferret rodent abatement — a wildlife-informed foundation that shapes how CK9PS approaches every account. She mentors K9 handlers at her own expense and remains committed to raising detection standards across the industry.
